Cavansite is a deep blue hydrous calcium vanadium phyllosilicate mineral that occurs as a secondary mineral in basaltic and andesitic rocks together with a variety of zeolite minerals. Its name is derived from its chemical makeup, calcium vanadium silicate. With the exceedingly rarer mineral pentagonite, it is polymorphic.
